This is one of my favorite strains right here, this is Sub-Zero. She’s just really frosty. My name’s Khalil Niemeyer. Myself and my three business partners started Kapricorn as a nursery in 2017. Kapricorn is a sea goat. The property that our nursery’s on is also a working goat ranch. In 2020, we decided that it would make more sense to be diversified. And so we found the building we’re in now. So we first built our four grow rooms and then we built two more [00:00:30] and then we’re finishing up the last three grow rooms at this facility. So this is one of our three or four grow rooms in this side of things. So you got this hundred lights in here. All these rooms are identical. There’s four grow rooms here. Yeah, so these two rooms here are both LED rooms. So this is kind of see the different spectrum.

Still run [00:01:00] under canopy lights, a little bit hotter and a little wetter for LEDs. And then five drying rooms as well. Dry really low and slow. It’s about 14 days, right around 60% humidity, 60 degrees. And then after that it gets pushed towards joints or it goes towards ABUDs. Yeah, we’ll walk down to the veg area. Hey Elijah, how old are these plants?
Elijah

18, 19 days.

All right. Nice. From when they were brought in as clones from our nursery. Yeah. [00:01:30] So we bring clones in. Pretty nice that they handle all the nursery work and deliver us clones. We’re done with the growth side of tour and we’re going to head upstairs to where we do all our production and joints and infusion. And I’m going to turn it over to my production manager, Amy.

I’m the production manager, currently oversee fulfillment and the joint department. So this door is our cure room. Everything after host [00:02:00] drying comes in here and we cure in the 55 gallon barrels. Yeah, they live in these for about 18 to 21 days and then they move on to the trimming process. And here’s our packaging room. We do most of our packaging by hand. Right now they’re currently working on our 10 pack where we do two different strains per box. Here’s our joint production area. Three, two, one. Their operators are running the two machines here and we also have two grinders working on the material prep as well. [00:02:30] As of six months ago, we became number one in the state of Oregon for non-infused pre-rolls and hoping to get our infused at the top soon. How many of you rolled today?

My name is Teddy Reck. I operate the Blackbird. So I’m the lead joint roller here at Capricorn. What you’d want to see into a joint? Just straight flower. So normally on an average day, we’ll get about 5,000 joints per machine. [00:03:00] Overall, we’re getting close to hitting four million on both in the last two years that we’ve had these.

Our demand just keeps growing. People just appreciate the quality. Once they smoke them, they keep coming back for more. We’re just actually, I think we’re two weeks away from taking possession of our third RollPros.

So the names for our Blackbirds, the first one we got, I named her large Marge. I’m a huge fan of Peewee’s big adventure. So that was the reason for that one. And then the other one, we named Meatloaf. So [00:03:30] after the singer. So this is meatloaf right behind me. Yeah. I loaded up here into this hopper. So when we got these blackbirds, I’m just going to make a pre-roll that I know I want to see out there on the market. It moved down these trays here to the scales. So all the feedback that we got was phenomenal. It was everybody loved it, that people were just like, “These are the best joints that I’ve had.” So once it actually hits that weight that we’re looking for, it’ll [00:04:00] drop the dispenser down. Am I an artist? I guess, yeah. I am proud of the product that I am pumping out there.

I have been referred to as the joint master here at Kapricorn. I just want to make a good product and I just want to help people be able to have a good product out there. We’re getting two nice, very clean joints every time this thing goes through a cycle. We [00:04:30] foresee that we’re just going to continue to grow, continue to get more machines and just continue to expand the joint department here at Capricorn.

Well, six years ago, I would not have been able to predict that this is what we currently be doing, but I can really foresee our packaged goods realm of our company exploding from our carts, dabs, and pre-rolls. They say no more rooms after our ninth room, but I don’t believe them.

Five years from now, I could see us possibly being in other states. I think people like them in Oregon and if they like them here, which is to me is kind of the most competitive market in the country, I think they’ll like them in other places as well. Lots more good joints. I think that’d be the main focus if we expand it out from Oregon.
