Blunt production has remained stubbornly slow, inconsistent, and labor-intensive, even with the growth and expansion of the legal market. Most blunts are still hand-rolled, a process that’s rooted in culture but hamstrung by inefficiencies. Some are manufactured by semi-automated cone-stuffing machines, a process that comes with its share of inefficiencies (not to mention disrespects the plant and the consumer).
Even at the MSO level, production lines for blunt SKUs often rely on hand-applied wraps and manual crutch insertion. Infused options are even trickier to standardize. Across the board, consistency at scale hasn’t been achievable. Because of this, many brands don’t have a blunt in their product line.
