Job Description:

The Procurement Specialist will be in charge of acquiring materials and products, locating key vendors and suppliers, negotiating the company’s purchasing agreements, and making sure the materials and products meet the company’s needs and specifications. The Procurement Specialist will be in charge of building and maintaining vendor relationships to secure the best prices on quality products for our company.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Purchase goods and services that meet the quantity and quality expectations of the organization
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors/suppliers
  • Maintain relationships with vendors/suppliers
  • Locating multiple suppliers for all purchase items
  • Managing part obsolescence 
  • Handling Shipping/Receiving
  • Track inventory and restock goods when needed
  • Inventory Management
  • Project Management

The Procurement Specialist will work with supply chain businesses to procure various materials for our company’s products and consumable goods. They’ll spend time researching and finding suppliers that produce quality items within our business’ budget. The Procurement Specialist will work closely with our Operations Manager, Inventory Specialist, Customer Service Department, and Office Manager. They will be given key business criteria and must ensure that all of the products follow this criteria and specification list. 

They’re also responsible for gathering and preparing documents including quotes, purchase orders, as well as conditions from suppliers for their supervisor to review. Once suppliers are hired, the Procurement Specialist will carefully analyze and monitor each suppliers’ performance and maintain supplier relationships. This person will also be one of the supplier’s main points of contact, and will answer any questions or address concerns the supplier has.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in procurement for Manufacturing or Tech based industries
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) preferred
  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred
  • Background in Finance, Logistics, Inventory Management, and/or Supply Chain Management

Work Environment

This position is performed in a standard office environment and may be flexible for some remote work (>20% of the time). Collaborative and engaging team with room for laughter and fostering of unfiltered creativity.
